It depends on your idea of fame, of course, but Laura Lemay (HTML
Demigoddess) was a tech writer at Sun and Kalieda before her current
incarnation.

She gives an interview at

advice to those who are thinking about writing that first book of their
own.

And Laura, if you're on this list, I want a free copy of "Learn Java in
21 days", if only because I include you in the same company in Pirsig
