Best is on a tripod. When set for "still", Snappy will capture
multiple video frames to improve image quality. If the camera moves
even the smallest amount, the outcome will be fuzzy. (Brief explanation
of how video imaging works and why it's important to keep the camera
perfectly still, available privately on request :-)

Yes, partly for the same reason ("perfect pause" isn't), and partly
because it eliminates generation loss.
