Subject:font editors From:Wendy Lewis <wlewis -at- INCG -dot- COM> Date:Fri, 6 Jun 1997 16:07:58 -0400
I am a lone techwriter in a small software development company and am very
glad to have found this forum. now...
Our software includes a tool bar of common, yet highly stylized characters.
There are check marks, plus, minus, x, and some curly arrows. I would like
to create these characters in a font editor and assign them to some of the
more obscure characters in my default font. This would allow me to
ALT-keypad them into the text where they would flow, take up space, take up
memory, and appear as regular characters.
I did this at my previous company with Corel Draw and a rigged formula that
one of our internet-savvy engineers discovered. I no longer have Corel
Draw, the formula, or contact with the engineer. I believe that a font
editor would do the trick, but I've only been able to find a DOS version of
share ware on the net.
Any suggestions of products, free or otherwise, tricks, free or otherwise,
or advice, free only?
