If I had to choose between a potential new employee with
experience and one with education, I'd choose the one with
ability. (Did anyone say "Kobyashi Maru"?) Experience and
education are both _indirect_ indicators of how good
someone is _likely_ to be, but neither one provides a
_direct_ measure of good performance. So now we raise the
ugly spectre of how to test ability. Glad I'm <gdr'ing> for
the weekend...
