Education isn't a waste of your time. Education is *never* a waste
of time. The point many people are trying to make is that education
isn't the only valid path to becoming a superior technical writer.
Education is the only thing the mind never fears and never regrets. So
saith Leonardo daVinci.
A mind, stretched by a new idea, never returns to its former shape. Oliver
Wendell Holmes.
Education *is* the only path to becoming a superior Tech Writer. (Bet you
never thought I'd disagree with you on *that* point, eh, Misti?) But just
don't confuse "education" with "educational institution." Yes, education
can happen within the "halls of learning." But it also happens outside
them.
Make the most of your time inside. Educate yourself to the fullest extent
possible. You may even be able to find a professor or two willing to help
you in the endeavor. ;{>}
Have fun,
