The First Annual TECHWR-L International Survey
(This is unofficial and non-sponsored)
The First Annual TECHWR-L International Survey results are complete
and ready. I apologize for being later than I'd planned, but I was caught
up in so many projects with "yesterday" deadlines, it had to be put off
until now.
I received a total of 126 responses from the TECHWR-L list. Besides
the United States, there were submissions from Canada (17), Australia (2),
United Kingdom (4), France (1), and Denmark (1). I separated the results in
the United States into 7 areas: Far West (19), Northwest (5), South (13),
Northeast (12), Mid-Atlantic (3), Midwest (31), and Central (18). As I
promised, there is no personal information included with any of the
material. All names, locations, and other specific information were
discarded upon receipt.
Not surprisingly, the overwhelming type of work was Software
Documentation and the majority of TECHWR-L subscribers responding to this
survey use various releases of Microsoft Word. However, I was surprised at
the total respondents using FrameMaker. I don't know if Frame user's tend
to belong to this list in greater proportion, or there is just a good
sample of FrameMaker users "out there".
I've prepared files in the following formats: FrameMaker 5 (RATES.FM),
Rich Text Format (RATES.RTF), Microsoft Word 6 format (RATES.DOC), Adobe
Acrobat 3.0 format (RATES.PDF), and a simplified HTML file (RATES.HTM).
These are available immediately (just ask). If you want the original Lotus
1-2-3 file (RATES.123 - Workbook file from Lotus 1-2-3 version 96), I have
that available as well.
Since the compilation is rather long (9-10 Landscape 11 inch x 8.5
inch pages), please eMail me directly at mailto:dhays -at- novalis -dot- com and tell
me how you'd like to receive your copy.
Finally, if you have any questions about it, please contact me at
either dlhays -at- earthlink -dot- net or dhays -at- novalis -dot- com -dot- Thanks again for being so
patient.
