What I have found (and I do use HW 4.0) is that the .rtf files have to
be saved in Word 7.0, not 97 (8). IOW, you have to have Word 95
(version 7) and save it in .rtf from there. the .rtf from Word 97 does
something funky that can screw up your help files and prevent successful
compilation.
