Greetings Kevin,
The main thing to understand is that there is no real such thing as
"bold". There is not a command that tells the printer to lay down some
extra ink or toner.
When you select "bold" what is really happining is that you are selecting
a different font set.
The most likely problem is that the driver does not support what ever font
set the program defaults to.
The other thing to think about is that there are two distint font drivers
you need to worry about. The font set that is sent to the printer, and the
font set sent to the screen. If for some reason the driver does not
support the font set you select, it will default to the closest one
available. Even with WYSIWYG, what you see may not be what is printed.
The quick test is to change to a different driver. If you are using a
Windows or Mac based machine it is a snap. If you are using Frame or
Interleaf (like me) you might as well forget about it.
