Agree with Rikki--Tina doesn't deserve that kind of blast--she took on
at least as much blame as she deserved.
As for what to do now...a toughie because you've only got two weeks.
Also, with you leaving, it won't be your problem to fix. But it doesn't
look good.
First off--any way to get the contractor working on site from this point
to make it easier to track progress and also monitor quality? Also, it
seems like the remaining work is a bit much for one person--any way you
and your co-writer could take on some of the work? This would again be
more manageable if the contractor's on site at least part of the day.
At the least, you should be entitled to see a realistic project plan for
getting the rest of the work done and to set up some interim
deliverables or reports including showing the work (like every Friday or
Tuesdays and Fridays).
I think I'd also try to find out what's going on. If this contractor is
experienced and had good references, what is the problem with this
project? Are there personal issues (if so, the contractor may welcome a
little assistance)? Was the project more complex than he thought, is he
having trouble with the concepts? There might not be much time to
explore these issues, but if you can, it may help open up communication
with the contractor, and if he's feeling a bit guilty about the job, he
may welcome a second chance and work like crazy to get the job done.
