TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I have hesitated to ask this, but I really need some guidance.
I am working on my first software documentation project. I am at the
beginning of writing the Software Requirements Specification (the
software, of course, was written eons ago), but have scant
information to go by. I would assume that there are some standards
out there. Are there? This is a Bureau of Land Management project,
if that helps.
If this information is archived, please forgive the posting and
direct me to the archives.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
