Doug and others,
Bottom line is that MCSE certification means that the holder is a
technical expert in certain Microsoft products; specifically, all
Microsoft operating systems (Windows for Workgroups, Windows 95, Windows
NT Workstation, Windows NT Server), plus at least two other elective
areas such as Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft network administration,
Microsoft Exchange, etc).
The certification is targeted toward system engineers and developers.
Risking attack, I have to say that MCSE certification is not meant for
technical communicators; however, any training in the field you all work
in cannot hurt.
