Did you close Word before importing the file into FrameMaker?
One warning I see again and again on these newsgroups is to turn off Fast
Saves because Fast Saves might be buggy and might be linked to many
problems users encounter in Word.
I use Word 97 and Frame 5.5 on the PC. I rarely need to bring in Word docs
and when I do it's via Word 95 and also via an RTF filter. Frame 5.5 does
claim to support Word 95 files, but my Word documents are complex
(graphics, customized styles, RD fields, xrefs, etc. . . ) so I just use a
method for importing that I am used to.
