Actually, I wasn't thinking of the get-passive constuction of lay.
Perhaps I am thinking of an instance of mis-use of the verb.
She ___ with her husband to be. You can't use lie - it doesn't sound
right and it isn't past tense (could be, but I don't think it HAS to
be). (All this pussy-footin' around can be confusing.)
At any rate - techwriters don't get to use it!!!
