Oh, I'm sure it's POSSIBLE....

It sounds like a fair amount of programming though. Having not played with
Form Fields in Word, I don't know if there's a way to use them and do it all
in the template without a macro.

But offhand it looks like you need to at least:

- Set some fields up for input
- Get the merge info
- Protect that information
- Allow input to specific fields

That's a fair number of tasks (taking into account the specific fields) right
there. Any way you cut it.

One thing that does occur to me is you could download the information to be
protected to a separate, completely protected file or document, and reference
it in the document to be modified, so that the protected info would never
actually be stored in your working document at all.

But this isn't one of those quick and easy ones, for sure.
