Online Editor and Layout Specialist (Webmaster)
SUMMARY
Responsible for the Marketing content of Rogue Wave's external corporate
Web site. Maintain a variety of information on the site in an
easy-to-access and current state, including product and company
information, support information, and purchasing information.
REPORTS TO
Director of Corporate Communications
SUPERVISES
May supervise temporary Web content creators.
JOB DUTIES
Overall responsibility for Web site content.
Work with others in marketing to ensure Web site effectively communicates
corporate image, product positioning, and marketing programs and policies.
Request, design, and implement Web based systems with the Knowledge
Management group.
Responsible for overall site navigation, usability, and visual appeal.
Proofread, edit, and occasionally write, information for the Web site.
Ensure that all information on the Web site is current.
Implement page layout and navigation schemes that are visually appealing
and Web-etiquette aware.
Create or edit graphics, as necessary, for the Web site.
Convert from various data formats to HTML.
Adhere to company values.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Mastery of HTML required.
Familiarity with both Windows and Unix required.
Perl programming a plus
Excellent proofreading skills essential.
Familiarity with graphics software.
Ability to understand business issues as they relate to the Web's role.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum two years experience in Web site creation required.
Copy editing experience desirable.
Marketing experience desirable.
