Several of the technical communication students at my university maintain
online resumes, and although I do not graduate until May and therefore
can't give you a glowing testimonial of my own, I know that some
recent graduates have gotten interviews because someone was searching the
Web and found thier resumes.

I would note a distinction, however, between simply putting a text resume
on the Web in its linear form and posting a modular, non-linear resume
that exhibits your ability to design for and work with the Web. If you
are asking for a job designing for the Web in any capacity, you should
exhibit good design skills on your resume, rather than having a straight
text document (although getting too glitzy with graphics is also
counter-productive).
