Yeah, we could all go back to Beowulf, but think about how
cramped the job market would be. I mean, how much
background does a tech writer need to write an operator's
manual for a sword? And after we'd written the sword
manual, what would be left? How to build a torch? And by
the way, who all could read any of the manuals we'd write
anyhow? And about payment, I really don't want to get
three goats, a chicken, and two sheep for a year's work on
a user's manual.
