Responding to an old thread--
I book I co-authored has a section (the one I wrote) on guidelines for
Web sites and pages. Since I am a technical writer by trade, I hope it
has the kind of advice you wanted. It is GUI Design Essentials by
Weinschenk, Jamar, and Yeo. Published by Wiley Computer Books.
It comes with a CD of the files so you can start with those in the book
and adapt them to your needs.
