Sending PDF Files and Acrobat Reader Via Lotus Notes/Can It be Done?
Subject:Sending PDF Files and Acrobat Reader Via Lotus Notes/Can It be Done? From:Charissa N Mc Swain <cnmcswai -at- DUKE-ENERGY -dot- COM> Date:Mon, 10 Nov 1997 17:23:03 -0500
Here's the situation: I am required to use Lotus Notes to send the training
documents I'm creating to the users in remote locations. Because of this
requirement, I was told that I MUST use Word, which I HATE!!! (I always use
FrameMaker, and am too old and set in my ways to change to an inferior
product.) The argument against FM to PDF was that users find it difficult
to download/install Acrobat Reader and the client wants the process to be
as seamless as possible. That being the case, does anyone know whether
Acrobat Reader can be sent along with PDF files via Lotus Notes and install
transparently (or close to it) on the user's machine so that they don't
have to think too much. The goal is to get the documents to them as easily
as possible for them to print. We have had some problems in the past with
printing PDFs when users have different equipment.
To sum up: Can PDFs and Reader be sent via Lotus Notes so that users can
print them easily?
