Subject:PDF on laptops From:geoff-h -at- MTL -dot- FERIC -dot- CA Date:Tue, 11 Nov 1997 16:13:42 -0600
Annalee Foster wondered why pdf files might cause problems
on laptop computers. I'd bet it's got to do with screen
size: if the PDF file is optimized for viewing on a 15 inch
or larger desktop monitor, it's going to be illegible on
the typical 11-inch laptop screen or require endless
scrolling. (This is less of a problem if you're rich and
can afford a laptop with one of the huge new screens, but
I'm not one of them.) If the PDF is designed specifically
to fit on a laptop screen, it'll work just fine there. Know
thy audience!
