I will admit that most "experts" I have consulted about bullets say that
they should not be indented.
With that said, I DO indent my bullets. ;-) I do so for the simple fact
that I believe it does make them stand out more so then if the bullets
were not indented. I'm not married to this style, so if a global style
should arise in the industry, I would have no problem changing. For now
however, I think indented bullets look better.
It's like how many spaces should you use after a period. All my life I
was taught to use two spaces after a period - thus I have been doing so
since I began typing. Now, it seems the industry has moved more toward
using only one space. Trust me, that is a HARD habit to break.
P.S. Does anyone know the reasoning behind using only one space? Common
sense would tell you that two spaces is easier on the eyes. The only
reason I have ever heard for using one period is environmental reasons.
You know, it saves paper...which I don't think is valid reason. Not
that I'm anti-environmental, but think about it...
