I agree with what John Posada said re recruiters, often the aim is to get
people placed regardless of experience, relevance etc. The number of times
I've been contacted with offers hundreds of miles away when I specified
"local" too numerous to count.
However, in the UK, we are lucky in that there are a few agencies which
specialise in documentation (both large, nationwide companies and some
regional companies as well). These tend to be a bit more selective as they
have a reputation to maintain - if they contact you the job usually does
need the skills you say you have etc. Still, like John, I'd rather get
info from the other "non-specialists" and say no than possibly miss a good
opportunity.
