Subject:Re: Defining Hypertext Link From:Sean Fitzpatrick <Sean -dot- Fitzpatrick -at- SMED -dot- COM> Date:Wed, 26 Nov 1997 15:48:59 -0500
The IBM Dict. of Comp. has these definitions:
hypertext--A method of presenting information on line with connections between
one piece of information and another, called hypertext links.
hypertext link--A connection between one piece of information and another.
I think the definition of hypertext shows a good method of presentation: give
the definition (familiar language) first and then the (unfamiliar) term. You
might mention "automatic connections between pieces of on-line information
(called hypertext links)".
