limited-residency degree programs since 1966. As a further innovation
in providing quality educational experiences to distant students,
students who cannot attend class for a variety of reasons, Syracuse?s

purely online courses each term, in cutting-edge subjects not readily

Syracuse University is pleased to offer "The New Literature: A Hypertext
Fiction and
Poetry Workshop" on-line this spring semester through Syracuse
University Continuing Education (SUCE) OnLine. This course is an
exploration of the new medium of narrative and verse at the computer
terminal. The primary focus is on the student's development of
coherent hypertext multimedia stories or poems-- working to define an
art form at the cutting edge. Concepts include ideas about video games
as narrative text, achieving written structures relevant to hypertext,
introducing images, audio and video in writing. Students should have
familiarity with Netscape and E-mail.
