TECHNICAL WRITER
Attachmate Corporation, voted among the top five large companies to
work for in Washington State, has been connecting computers across
corporate networks for over 15 years. We are currently looking for
technical writers to create documentation for our software products
which will revolutionize the way the world accesses host information.
Job Summary
Following the processes of the Publications Group and the Product
Development Department and using developed writing skills, you will
create documentation for software products. Documentation may include,
but is not limited to, paper documentation for customers, help
systems, on-line documentation, and internal documentation. This is
accomplished by working independently or within a writing team and
project team to: create project planning and scheduling documents;
obtain a full understanding of subject matter; and organize, write,
and illustrate the documentation.
Requirements
* A four-year college degree in communications or a related area; or
equivalent experience
* Two (2) years experience as a Technical Writer.
* Writing samples that demonstrate success in using basic writing
principles and in organizing and laying out subject matter.
* A demonstrated ability to use a personal computer and
word-processing or desktop-publishing software.
* Experience participating in the publication process.
