Maybe because of my past experience, I opted for sticking with the two fonts (Arial and Times New Roman) because I've had a great deal of experience submitting my resume in electronic form for the first go-round, usually Word and having the target (usually an agency) print the resume. This is the only reason for font availability being an issue. Of course it is a non-issue if you are delivering the resume in hard copy. (duh!) My printed resume doesn't use them.
Anyway...when dealing with agencies, font is almost a non-issue anyway because most agencies scan the resume and at that point, they ALL look like Courier.

John Posada introduced the question of machine-readable copies -- if
you're using Windows and True Type, font embedding might help your
typography, but certainly won't help with the choice of paper size.
Still 'n' all, most clients or employers want hard copy resumes. That's
However, again we are getting to the point of excluding a resume because of type face. Are we really that critical of a resume to look down our nose if someone uses the Times type of font? What's next? Basing it exclusively on what tools I use?

My opinions are mine, and neither you nor my company can take credit for them.
