Subject:Viewing Large Format Drawings On-Line From:Michael J Maloney <mmaloney -at- EPIC-ISTI -dot- COM> Date:Wed, 28 Jan 1998 17:30:38 -0500
Robert Plamondon states:
The problem with viewing schematics on-line is that displays
has far too little resolution for complex diagrams. If you zoom
in, you don't have enough context. If you zoom out, you don't
have enough detail.
My reply is:
You describe a problem that no longer exists. Using IsoView, you can
display CGM Version 4 raster, vector, or hybrid images within interactive
documents with the ability to zoom and pan. You can create a view window
within your document and pan the schematic - full size. And, if you use
IsoDraw to create the illustrations, you can create hotspots and viewports
to jump within and between graphic files using intelligent object oriented
technology.
If this exciting advancement in technical communication technology is of
interest to any technical communication specialist subscribed to this list,
I will fax you a copy of the IsoDraw CGM White Paper and Intellegent
Graphics White Papers for further information on Hotspots, Viewports and
hyperlinking intelligent object oriented graphics. Links from text to
graphics, graphics to text and graphics to graphics are supported.
