Integrating Training and Documentation: A Strategic Planning Process
Integrating the training and documentation functions in an
organization can produce considerable benefits: reduced development
costs, enhanced focus on user needs, and the smooth interconnection of
information provided through training and in manuals.
But just housing the two departments in the same place does not
produce integration. Forcing two different goals and objectives,
different personality types, and different training and experience
with product, users, and tasks often produces conflict rather than
communication.
By the end of this seminar, you will have the outline for a strategic
plan you can apply to your organization.
In this one-day seminar you will learn:
*The benefits and challenges of integrating training and
documentation.
*How to identify goals and objectives for an integrated function.
*How to perform a SWOTs analysis (strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities, and threats).
*Ways to write an integrated mission statement.
*How to develop action plans, timelines and assign responsibilities.
*Methods to turn goals and objectives into strategies for change.
