Subject:WORD: spacing at top of page From:Sonja Draeger <sdraeger -at- NORMAN -dot- COM -dot- AU> Date:Wed, 11 Feb 1998 12:32:00 +1100
I just applied this information from John, and created a .pdf file not longer after. To my surprise some of my page layout went odd in the .pdf file. After stuffing about a bit I ended up turning off the options John mentioned and now the .pdf file is okay. I was surprised these options were the cause of my problem and really couldn't find anything else that could have caused it. Has anyone else had the same problem?
I guess this just means there's another quirk to remember when we create .pdf files from Word 97 files.

How can you 'turn off' the spacing above a paragraph (particularly a
heading) when it appears at the top of a page? I'm using Word 7.

Go to Tools/Options/Compatibility.
Check "Suppress extra line spacing at top of page" and "Supress Space
Before after a hard page or column break".
