Tools and Technology (7:00-8:30 p.m. -- note the earlier start-time)
Two formal presentations and one roundtable will showcase some of the
newest tools for technical communicators. John Daigle, a technical
communicator and corporate World Wide Web consultant now located in San
Antonio, will review HTML authoring tools such as Adobe PageMill, Net
Objects Fusion and Microsoft Front Page and compare them with the speed and
dexterity of text-based editors. Alec Sonenthal, president of Greenbrook
Technical Communications, will showcase WINHELP and other development
tools. These presentations are hands-on demonstrations and are timed to
allow plenty of audience questions and interaction.
Roundtable (6:30-7:00 p.m.)
Madeliene Reardon, technical writer and software trainer, will
answer your questions about Adobe's Framemaker 5.5. After a brief
introduction, she will provide Tech Support Live! Bring your problems and
she'll try to solve them on the spot, on her PowerBook. If she can't solve
the problem quickly, she'll take it home with her.
