TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Society for Technical communication invites proposals for grant funding
of up to $2000.00 to help support internships for full-time university
faculty to spend time in industry. This funding is above and beyond the
salary that the faculty member receives for the internship.
The internship is designed to support faculty with limited workplace
experience or to support faculty in areas with limited access to
technical communication industry. Both faculty members with job offers
or companies seeking faculty interns may propose projects in which the
faculty member will serve as an intern.
Proposal deadlines to STC's Academic Industry Committee are due April
1, 1998 (for summer and autumn 1998) and November 1, 1998 (for spring
and summer 1999).
