Create web-enabled, knowledge base documents available to
support reps, account managers, and customers of a software
business application. You will conduct analysis, develop
specifications, write documents, perform developmental and copy
editing, and publish the information in the appropriate format.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create content specifications as part of a larger information
plan for information to be contained in Apriori.
- Create Apriori documents to aid both support reps in call
resolution and customers in solving their own problems via
SupportNet (the Internet knowledge base).
- Work with subject matter experts to determine what documents
to create to proactively address potential issues. Create those
documents.
- Edit existing Apriori documents to developed standards.
- Review all new documents created for duplicates and adherence
to standards.
- Review and archive documents based on developed criteria.
- Aid support reps and account managers in creation of Apriori
documents through templates, training, developmental editing, etc.
- Work with Apriori Administrator and Web Central to present
SupportNet documents in a user-friendly, professional manner.
Qualifications:
- College degree or equivalent work experience acceptable to
DataWorks Corporation.
- Technical writing experience, preferably in a software development
environment.
- Understanding of technical writing principals, including audience
analysis, document organization, formatting, and delivery.
- Familiarity with knowledge bases in a software support environment.
- Working knowledge of DataWorks' products and services.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing industry, software and help desk
environments.
- Experience developing knowledge bases a plus.
- Good analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Mail, HTML, the Internet, and
understanding of business application software.
- Working knowledge of typical office equipment such as fax machines,
copiers, calculators and printers.
