New Media Communications/Professional and Technical Communications Instructor
(Full-Time Term, August 1, 1998 - June 30, 1999)
Duties: The Canadian Institute for New Media, Research and Development and the College of the Rockies located in Cranbrook, B.C. require an instructor to teach courses in the post diploma New Media Communications and Technical and Professional Communications programs. Courses may include Writing for New Media, Survey of the Digital Society, Internet Publishing and On-Line Documentation. The instructor will also be involved in managing and supporting students* new media communication projects and work experience contracts as part of second semester courses (Communications Project and Contract Work Experience) in the New Media Communications post diploma program.
The instructor will also be assigned duties as project manager for the Canadian Institute for New Media, Research and Development which may involve writing project proposals, pursuing project contracts, managing projects and contracts, serving as a liaison between the programs and the international Advisory Board and coordinating activities between the Institute*s programs.
Qualifications: Candidates should possess a minimum of a Masters degree in a related media field with relevant adult teaching experience. Desirable qualifications include college teaching experience; ability to work with diverse populations; project experience with distance learning, multimedia, and Internet-based design and development; ability and potential to conduct outreach activities and proposal writing experience.
Salary: As per the Faculty Salary Schedule
