One of the best, most productive working environments I have been in was a
large cube with 6' walls containing 4 writers, each with a desk & 5' tall
storage file that blocked part of any noise, in a quiet area of an extensive
office layout. The fact that we were all quiet writers (as opposed to the
"talky types"), and like the people on this list, helped each other with
documenting problems and ideas, contributed greatly to the success of this
layout.
