No offense, but if the number of copies is alot and if the button is
significant, I wouldn't make the decision. I'd issue a short, one-page
memo to my boss suggesting that management of whatever departments are
involved be informed. I'd objectively layout the problem, the impact as
you see it, your recommendation, the costs associated with each option,
and let management address it.
I'd include, at least, your boss, Marketing, Customer Service, Q&A, R&D,
and Development.
