In Word 97 Mail Merge, if the merge field in the main document is not in
the data source file, Word gives you an error message when you do the
merge. This is fine except if you want to end this error message dialog
window.
It gives you the error message for every field and for every record. There
are many times you may have hundreds of records or maybe you just selected
the wrong data source and need to cancel out of the error window loop but
cannot.
Clicking on Cancel, hitting the Escape key, or control-break does not seem
to work.
If I do CTRL-ALT-DEL, it shuts down Word completely, not just the merge
process.
Has anyone found a way to break out of the error loop?
