I know several people who aren't technical writers who have all of the
quals. discussed, and many students or recent graduates with none of
them, and vice versa.
I think that a good definition for "entry-level" (herein called EL) could be:
"one who wishes to get in on the ground floor in a profession relaitvely
new to them"
I use the word relative because the term EL is relative.
I have applied for "entry-level" positions where they wanted 3 months
experience, and others where thay wanted 3 years. Some that say
"internship" really mean "apprenticeship for 2 years". I think it all
depends on the person giving the definition, and we'll never define EL to
anyone's satisfaction.
Just some rampant thoughts...
