Our success with online reviews seems to be directly proportional
to the engagement and motivation of the reviewers. If it's just
another line on the job description for the reviewers, you'll get
just about the same stuff you'd get in hardcopy, if not worse.
If, however, the reviewers are motivated and enthusiastic,
you can have really good success with either revision marks or
just emailed comments (e.g. "first paragraph after YYYYY subhead,
consider changing...").
