Problem with going ahead and doing this stuff--
I had the opposite experience. I was asked to make copies and bind my proposals, and I wanted to do it as I was afraid the secretary would screw it up (control freak, oh yeah). My boss stopped me and said it wasn't a good use of my resources, get the secretary to do it. And when I thought about it, he was right.
