Hello All,
I'm working with a terrific Publications Director to fill an open managerial
spot at his company in South Dakota. The position offers a salary to 80K plus
a wonderful benefits package consisting of stock options, profit sharing,

description of the opportunity is listed below:
Manager, Information Development
Responsible for managing design and production of high quality, understandable
technical documentation using a combination of writing, illustration, and
software in a high pressure environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop a viable strategy to leverage documentation to enhance the customer
experience.
2. Set group goals and expectations; monitor progress as a result of these
expectations.
3. Research market and company documentation requirements; define vision and
direction to the Documentation Development area
4. Control costs of manual, software, and illustration in accordance with
department budgetary goals
5. Generate management status reports
6. Facilitate departmental meetings and attend related departmental assigned
meetings as the point person for the Customer Experience department
7. Coordinate external vendors and suppliers efforts with those of the
department to meet overall deadlines
8. Coordinate the worldwide documentation effort; in particular coordinate the
localization and translation efforts.
9. Work with CE platform leads to provide a consistency across platforms for
documentation development
10. Coach, mentor, train, and discipline assigned staff.
11. Identify and manage continuous improvement projects
12. Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor's or Masters' degree in Technical Communications, Human Factors
Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or closely related field; AND a minimum
of seven years experience in a technical information development position (at
least two years prior management) is required; OR, an equivalent combination
of education and /or experience.
