Giving honest feedback always places a person at risk, but can also be the
most beneficial means of open and honest communication. If your assessment
of the work environment concludes you can honestly share feelings, then go
for it, with the up-front understanding and agreement that this is not a
personal attack.

A somewhat safer approach may be to arrange a facilitated meeting, where a
non-partial facilitator in a structured setting asks for lessons learned,
both good and bad, for each step of your project. It is just as important
to acknowledge what was done right as what could be improved upon.
