Sorry, but are we confusing between Word 97 and Word 7 ?
Word 7 is Word for Windows 95. It is *not* Word 97.

So is it a reported bug in Word 7 or Word 97. Robin can you please clarify?

We had the same problem, and after doing some research on Microsoft's web
site found out this is a but in Word 97. The workaround is to save the image
as part of the file. You cannot link it.
Bummer, huh?
