Subject:Question on job posting From:Douglas Max <dmax -at- BELLATLANTIC -dot- NET> Date:Sun, 9 Aug 1998 20:43:54 -0400
Linda asked if anyone knew what SPSS and EPSS stand for and what they
are.
I used SPSS in my graduate school days (years ago); if memory serves,
and I think it does in this rare case, SPSS is an acronym for
"Statistical Package for Social Sciences."
It was a program used to run experimental analyses: Multiple Linear
Regression, correlation, and exciting statistics like that. I believe
it's still being used; based on this query I'd guess it is, and I
believe my sister who's an economist uses it also.
If you'd like more info about it let me know and I'll dredge my mind for
more.
