Re: Marie McHarry's comments on the different types of technical writers. I
am in the same situation; I write and edit proposals and marketing
materials and feel very left out of the mainstream of STC and this
listserver, because I don't do software writing.I'm not saying that this
listserver is a waste; far from it. I have learned quite a few tips and
have enjoyed the conversations. Many aspects of tech. writing carry over
through all disciplines.
I am not aware of a listserver for non-software writers and editors. There
must be plenty more people like Marie and I who do techical and scientific
reports, proposals and marketing materials. Maybe, like Marie, they've been
lurking. Come out of hiding, folks. How many more are there who are not
software writers? Come forth! Tell Marie and I we're not alone.
