JOB POSTING: Senior TW (staff), QA/Word 97; Santa Monica, CA

The Quality Assurance group of GeoCities, a rapidly growing Internet company
(publicly held), needs a technical writer to start a small writing team within
the
department.  This person should have the following qualifications:

* Ability to manage their own time with little supervision
* Ability to manage one or two other employees
* Persistence and creativity in obtaining essential information from busy
colleagues
* Five years or more experience in technical writing (varied environments
preferred)
* Some knowledge of programming (especially C++ and/or Java)
* Grace under pressure
* Tact
* Thorough knowledge of Word 97

Note that the last is a specific requirement. This group will NOT be using
another product (such as Framemaker). Also, this is a senior position. The
ability to learn, while important, will not be sufficient.  All candidates
must already know Word, and know it well.

Prior lead or management experience is preferred.
