Subject:Need recommendations on 35mm slide scanner From:Michael Johnson <michaelj -at- OECMED -dot- COM> Date:Thu, 13 Aug 1998 18:01:06 -0600
I'm currently writing and illustrating some really detailed electronic and mechanical hardware service information. I've been using a digital camera for the job, and it performs well enough for most things. You just take the picture(s), import it (or them) into a drawing program to add things like sweep arrows, bubbles and callouts, and import the result into PageMaker. Very quick and nice! The PDFs look good, too. The final delivery will be on CD.
I'm going to have to scan some stuff in from color slides and negatives also, and I'm wondering what kind scanner to get for that job. Is anybody out there currently using a slide/film scanner to create illustrations? If so, please tell me what you use and how you like it. If there's enough interest, I'll summarize for the list.
Thank you!
