Description:
· Research, outline, and write moderately complex on-line and written
documentation that is technically and grammatically accurate.
· Prepare and/or maintain technical publications in multiple formats (hard
copy, Windows Help, and PDF).
· Gather and research technical information for use in documentation
activities.
· Make necessary revisions in existing documentation.
· Take screen shots and present information graphically.
· Develop in-depth knowledge of the company's products.
Requirements:
· Excellent grammar and writing ability
· Advanced skill with Microsoft Word, including use of styles, templates,
graphics, indexing, and table of contents generation
· Experience with Windows 95, 98, or NT
· Ability to create 16 and 32 bit Windows help files using RoboHelp or
similar tool
· Excellent research and problem-solving abilities
· Some knowledge of a graphics application such as Photoshop or Paintshop Pro
· Ability to accurately estimate task duration and meet schedules
· Self-motivation
· Ability to work closely with software engineers in a fast-paced environment
· Demonstrated experience in producing high-quality materials for technical
and end-user audiences
Desirable:
· WWW "power user"
· Background in high-tech or software development environment
· Unix knowledge
· Lotus Notes knowledge
· Client/server application knowledge
· Small company background
· Desktop publishing application knowledge
· Experience with creation of Adobe Acrobat files
· Software testing experience
· Document layout and formatting experience
