Subject:Bitmap to .wmf conversion From:Steve Riley <SRILEY -at- BCT-SYSTEMS -dot- CO -dot- UK> Date:Wed, 9 Sep 1998 12:26:49 +0100
Hey graphics people,
Looking for a method of converting scanned bitmaps to .wmf
files for a document archiving project.
1. The source files will be BMP or TIFF (bitmap)
2. The output will be WMF (vector)
3. Faithful & accurate conversion is essential
4. Compact file size is essential
say <500K / sheet of A4 (ok, Letter, whatever)
5. 16-colour would be nice, black & white will do
6. Source files typically contain text, boxes and other graphics.
Tried bitmap trace features in Corel Draw 8 -- not happy with
quality. Tried recreating images using the bitmap as a template
and tracing/recreating manually -- scary 2 hour nightmare.
Anyone know a nifty bit of software that will do the conversion
in, say, 3 or 4 keypresses? Any other ideas anyone, please?
