Simply open the screen capture graphic (mine are done in .GIF) in
PhotoShop, use the rectangular mask tool to cover the scroll bar area and
erase or delete it. Double click on the color box and change the CMYK
settings to 0,0,0,10 (i.e. 10% gray) and flood fill the area. Whilst the
mask is there, you can only work in this area.

I do this procedure almost daily and it literally take me 15-20 seconds at
a time.

And nothing beats a true representation of the original :~]

While we are discussing the "stripey scroll bars" which is also known as a
moire, I believe, I have a "fix" for the situation. The production group
put together these instructions for all the writers doing screen captures.
They worked like a charm and I got kinda used to the white background after
awhile. :-) These instructions below are for Win95, but if there is
interest, I have some ones that are supposedly specific to WinNT.
