From personal experience, I can recommend Director as a CBT-creation tool
that can be ported to the Web (as Shockwave). I have a Shcokwave quiz on
my WordSmith Workshop Web site.... http://www.superconnect.com/wordsmit
...and click on the Syntax Savvy Quiz icon.
Authorware definitely has more elaborate capabilities for creating
interactive CBT, but I find Director easier to use.

But I'm very interested in a new product just announced by Macromedia whose
sole purpose is to create interactive training stuff for the
Web--Dreamweaver Attain. (I understand it creates Web-based interactive
tutorials using a wizard that creates Javascript automatically..) It's a
bit pricey, but if I find it can do what they say it can do, I'll probably
get it. Here's the announcement they recently sent me:
